Gentle sedation options for anxious children and complex procedures at ToothMatters Jr., Kondapur. Led by pediatric dentists trained in sedation and special care dentistry.

Some children cannot get through treatment awake, and forcing it teaches them that the dental chair is a frightening place. For those children, and for longer or more complex procedures, sedation lets us do the work safely while your child stays calm.

Who it is for

Children with high dental anxiety, very young children needing extensive work, children with special care needs, and cases where several procedures are better done in one visit than spread across many.

How we decide

Sedation is never the first option. We start with behaviour management, explanation and time, because most children do not need anything more. If sedation is appropriate we discuss it with you fully first, including what is used, what to expect and how your child will be monitored.

Our team

Sedation cases are handled by pediatric dentists with specific training in it. Dr. Kiranmayi Thote practises special care, preventive and sedation dentistry, and Dr. Pavan Vardhan Sunkara holds an MDS in Paediatric Dentistry with a focus on sedation and conservative treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is sedation safe for my child?

Sedation for children is safe when it is properly assessed, correctly dosed and monitored throughout by trained staff. We assess every child individually, discuss the plan with you before the appointment, and monitor your child for the whole procedure.

Will my child be unconscious?

No. The sedation we use keeps children calm and relaxed rather than asleep. Your child can still respond to us.

Does my child need sedation?

Most children do not. We try time, explanation and behaviour management first, and only recommend sedation when a child genuinely cannot get through necessary treatment otherwise.
